Michael Wright is a Dallas transportation lawyer and business litigation lawyer who joined Russell & Wright, PLLC as a name partner in January 2010.  He has focused his practice on litigation and the transportation industry since graduation from law school.  He assists clients in handling a broad range of litigation from commercial litigation involving contract disputes to personal injury suits, including wrongful death and product liability claims.  Mr. Wright frequently assists clients with emergency response actions involving catastrophic injury, fatal accidents, and environmental release incidents arising out of rail or trucking accidents.  Mr. Wright has experience in all phases of trials, including jury and nonjury trials, arbitrations, and appeals in both state and federal courts.

In the transportation industry, Mr. Wright represents rail, aviation, trucking, and freight forwarding companies.   He assists clients with preparation of contracts, structuring transactions, and litigating disputes.  Mr. Wright has experience with Carmack Amendment litigation, COGSA litigation, and DOT and Surface Transportation Board matters.  He also has experience in surface freight disputes, freight loss and damage litigation, driver issues, and general regulatory compliance matters.

Mr. Wright is a member of the Texas State Bar, the Dallas Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.  He is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a sustaining life fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation.
